UK’s guards way too much for Michigan State

NEW YORK – Kentucky furthered the claim to the best backcourt in the country Tuesday against Michigan State in Madison Square Garden.

Malik Monk scored 23 points, Isaiah Briscoe had 21 and De’Aaron Fox 12 in the Wildcats 69-48 win over the Spartans in the Champions Classic.

No other UK player scored in double figures.

That didn’t matter. Not with Monk draining seven 3-pointers, Briscoe piling up points in the paint and Fox shooting a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line.
