Today is an exciting day for book lovers: It marks the annual World Book Night, which spreads the joy of reading across the globe.
Today (and tonight) thousands of “givers” in the USA are going out into their communities and giving away books. This year’s titles, selected by a panel of librarians and booksellers, include such classics as Fahrenheit 451, My Antonia and The Phantom Tollbooth, along with more recent faves such as Tina Fey’s Bossypants.

Fun fact: WBN happens today because April 23 marks Shakespeare’s birthday and the UNESCO International Day of the Book.
