Danger! New ‘Lost in Space’ series gets Netflix premiere date

Netflix's original series 'Lost in Space' will feature 10 one-hour episodes.

Now we know when the Robinsons are getting lost.

Netflix announced Wednesday, in an ominous teaser, that its 10-episode Lost in Space reboot is hitting the streaming service on April 13.

At least that’s the case for us here on Earth. According to Netflix, the pilot episode was shared 12 days ago with NASA and transmitted to the International Space Station for astronauts to watch.

Just like in Irwin Allen’s ’60s classic, this glossier version of the show features Will Robinson and his family on a mission to colonize a new planet. In this version, set 30 years in the future, the group is joined by the unsettlingly charismatic Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) and roguish contractor Don West (Ignacio Serricchio).

And this time, those words “Danger, Will Robinson!” Come from a much more sinister-sounding robot, as you can hear in the clip.

For comparison, here’s what those famous words sounded like in the original show.
